Early Pregnancy Sonogram (6 – 11 weeks)
Your obstetrical care will typically begin with an early pregnancy sonogram. This test will determine fetal number, gestational age, due date, as well as an evaluation of ovaries and uterus. Exams are considered safe, painless, and are typically performed within 20 minutes. Exams may include a Transabdominal and Endovaginal Sonogram to provide the most information for your healthcare provider. An early pregnancy sonogram may also be ordered when there is spotting, bleeding, or pain during the first trimester. A full urinary bladder is necessary for the Transabdominal portion of the test.
Nuchal Translucency Sonogram (11 – 14 weeks)
The Nuchal Translucency Sonogram is a test offered to women of any age during their pregnancy. The ultrasound examination involves measuring the amount of fluid accumulated under the skin at the back of the baby’s neck. This normal accumulation of fluid is known as the Nuchal translucency (or NT) measurement and it is often increased when a developing baby has Down syndrome. It is critical that this measurement be accurate, therefore it should always be performed by a physician or sonographer that has proper certification. At XDI, we are credentialed by the Nuchal Translucency Quality Review Program to ensure our patients with the best care possible. No preparations are necessary.

Fetal Anatomy / Baby Well-Being Sonogram (18 – 40 weeks)
Our Complete Obstetrical Sonogram or “Baby Well Being Scan” is a detailed anatomical survey of your baby. Careful measurements are obtained of the head, abdomen, femur, and Humerus to determine your baby’s age, due date, and weight. Structures such as the brain, spine, heart, and abdominal organs are evaluated to determine the health of your developing child and to check for problems such as spina bifida, cardiac septal defects, and limb abnormalities. No preparations are necessary.
Gender Determination
We are confident in providing accurate gender determination for interested patients over 14 weeks in their pregnancy. While the male genitalia typically develop externally at 11 weeks and females at 13 weeks, Ultrasound has been shown to be extremely accurate in determining fetal gender (99-100%). Our high-resolution system, experience, and techniques can provide interested patients with an accurate gender determination.
4D Ultrasound, DVD, CD, Color Photos
We are proud to provide the latest in ultrasound imaging…4D Ultrasound. 4D Ultrasound is the latest imaging application in the field of ultrasound today. In Obstetrics, 4D ultrasound aids in the visualization of anatomical structures to better assess the health of the developing fetus and may provide parents with incredible “life like” pictures of their baby like they’ve never seen before! Complimentary color photos are provided to patients upon completion of their study. Patients are also given the opportunity to purchase a special upgrade package including a DVD, CD, and Color Prints at a reduced fee! Studies have shown that fetal sonography may enhance the maternal-fetal bonding process and allow parents to better prepare for the arrival of their latest family member.

Exams may include a Transabdominal and Endovaginal Sonogram to provide the most information for your healthcare provider. A full urinary bladder is necessary for the Transabdominal portion of the test.

Exams may include a Transabdominal and Endovaginal Sonogram to provide the most information for your healthcare provider. A full urinary bladder is necessary for the Transabdominal portion of the test.

Breast ultrasound is used to provide your doctor with information regarding the health of your breasts. Ultrasound can aid your physician in locating breast tumors and cysts as small as a few millimeters in size. Breast sonograms are commonly ordered after a mammogram has shown an inconclusive or questionable diagnosis. Ultrasound is also used for women younger than age 30 or that are breast feeding to evaluate palpable masses or areas of tenderness. Breast Sonograms are considered painless, safe, and are typically performed within 10-20 minutes. No preparation is necessary. If you have had a mammogram, please bring or have most recent mammography films sent to our office before your exam.
