At XDI Ultrasound we use the new GE Voluson 730 Ultrasound System, which provides instant
4 D images, allowing parents to visualize live images of their childs movements in the womb,
providing a more realistic picture of your child in his/her unique environment. By allowing the
visualization of organs from multiple planes, 4 D may clarify structures not clearly visualized
by conventional 2 D Ultrasound, aiding your doctor with the management of your pregnancy.
4D Ultrasound uses the same high frequency sound waves as 2 D and is considered safe for
both mother and fetus.
Offering Video Recording, Picture Printouts and Gender Determination
From a stretch, to a yawn, or the beating of your childs heart, your ultrasound will allow you
take a peek at your childs first movements in the womb.
At XDI, we provide Obstetrical examinations including 2 D and 4 D ultrasound imaging,
Color/Pulsed Doppler capabilities and Endovaginal scanning with early pregnancy studies to
ensure the highest possible resolution for optimal diagnosis.
2 D ultrasound is the standard imaging used for fetal sonography. Although ultrasound cannot
detect all abnormalities, 2 D is very important because it allows the Sonographer to visualize
fetal anatomy, calculate size and weight as well as various abnormalities. 4 D ultrasound is
real-time motion added to three-dimensional images and may aid in the visualization of anatomical
structures to better assess the health of the developing fetus. 4 D may also provide life-like
images of your babys surface anatomy, motion and behavior.
At XDI, we provide complete and limited fetal imaging studies offering complimentary VHS video
recording and picture printouts
with the completion of a fetal sonogram.* For patients who are
interested in determining the gender of their baby, our Sonographers are confident in providing
the most accurate gender determination for interested parents over 17-18 weeks in their pregnancy.
Our Complete Obstetrical Sonogram includes fetal size and dates, as well as a detailed evaluation
of your childs anatomy including heart, spine, brain, abdominal organs, limbs, face, umbilical cord,
placenta, cervix and amniotic fluid levels. An evaluation of your uterus, placenta and ovaries is also
performed in order to ensure that your reproductive organs are healthy. The length of this study is
approximately 45 minutes. Your images will be recorded on film and interpreted by a Radiologist,
a doctor who specializes in ultrasound and a report promptly sent to your doctor.
Our Limited Obstetrical Sonogram, recommended for patients who have already had a complete fetal
sonogram, includes placenta location and measurements of your childs head, abdomen and long
bones, such as the femur, to determine fetal age, due date and weight. The length of this study is
approximately 30 minutes. Your images will be recorded on film and interpreted by a Radiologist, a
doctor who specializes in ultrasound and a report will be generated.
